VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR UNSKILLED WOMEN AND YOUTH
Some of the migrants in SAW’s targeted communities are dealing with a lack of job opportunities, making it difficult to find better employment as they are not qualified in sewing and other vocational skills. They work in various workplaces for their daily survival but do not receive fair wages due to their illegal status and lack of qualifications for the work. To assist them, SAW provides vocational training such as sewing and handicrafts training for unskilled women and youth in Mae Sot. SAW also plans to offer more sewing training for migrants in Phop Phra and intends to train volunteers based in the targeted communities to further train women and youth. These volunteers will then provide training to women and youth in their communities under the supervision of SAW.
