SAW Foundation’s Higher Education Program (HEP) warmly welcomed a group of 17 university students from Japan, representing the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Sophia University (Jyochi). During the visit, the students connected with 13 HEP students who are currently studying the Japanese language.

Together, they engaged in interactive and enjoyable activities designed to foster cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and intercultural communication. The session created a vibrant space for sharing study experiences, perspectives, and building meaningful connections across cultures. A highlight of the exchange was a presentation by HEP students, who shared the current challenges faced by young people from Myanmar in accessing higher education.

This provided an important opportunity for dialogue and deeper understanding. The visiting group is part of MIS (Multilateral Interaction with Students), an initiative founded by University of Tokyo students in 2021. MIS aims to promote youth leadership, encourage cross-cultural learning, and strengthen communication among students from diverse backgrounds. The exchange was filled with energy, collaboration, and shared learning—leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
